Coronation Street spoilers follow.
Coronation Street villain Stephen Reid suffers a nasty accident next week as his secretive behavior continues.
Stephen is currently in a difficult financial situation, but with his reputation as a successful businessman to protect, he’s determined to make sure that his family and friends on the cobbles don’t find out that he’s struggling.
In next week’s episodes, Stephen hopes that his luck is starting to change when he’s offered an interview for some consultancy work.
Stephen takes part in the interview via a video call, but is disappointed when the conversation goes badly.
The agency later offers Stephen a job as a fast food delivery driver instead. Feeling desperate, Stephen decides to accept it.
Later in the week, Stephen gets busy delivering food for a restaurant called Six Fellas. After losing his car thanks to his ex-wife GabrielleStephen drives around on a scooter.
Stephen’s day takes a turn for the worse when he is confronted by a group of teenagers, who steal his delivery box and work phone. The youths then demand money from him.
During the altercation, Stephen spots Tim Metcalfe’s mum Elaine Jones approaching on the street.
Stephen tries to race away on his scooter, not wanting Elaine to find out about his surprising new job.
The schemer’s haste backfires when he loses control of the vehicle and goes sprawling across the road.
Todd Boycewho plays Stephen, explained: “Losing the car is a real blow for him. Then things go from bad to worse when he is on his first delivery and a gang of kids crowd around his scooter and steal the food delivery box.
“Elaine comes round the corner to find him on the floor, but it just looks like a normal scooter because there is no food box, which is a blessing in disguise.
“He is such a good liar, he just spins this tale about having had a scooter in Milan and it is more eco friendly than having a car.”
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
