Strictly Come Dancing‘s Maisie Smith and Max George have defended their age gap as they discussed their romance.
The duo went official as a couple in September, after they met while taking part in Strictly in 2020 and subsequently both appearing on the show’s live tour.
“People ask me: ‘Do you notice it?’ and I never have. We’re so like-minded,” the actress said. “I’ve got friends in their 30s and 40s. You connect with who you connect with.”
Max added: “It never enters my mind. Maisie has already done so many things that I’m in awe of – I look up to her.”
The musician revealed that he is currently living with Maisie, and they plan to get their own place in London, as well as a home in Manchester.
Max has previously defended his relationship against complaints after Ulrika Jonsson criticized Maisie for sharing her emotions in social media posts.
The Wanted star posted a photo of himself flipping the middle finger, along with the caption: “Just for you Ulrika.”
Max is no stranger to public relations, having previously dated Hollywood superstar Lindsay Lohan during the height of The Wanted’s global fame. He was in a relationship with Stacey Giggs from 2018 until earlier this year.
Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturdays and Sundays on BBC One, while spin-off shows Strictly: It Takes Two airs on weeknights on BBC Two. Both shows also stream on BBC iPlayer.
